Giving Back

Gemmer believes that giving back is a cornerstone to any great company. In that regard, we support a number of organizations that offer tremendous services to the less fortunate, some of which are specifically targeting families and kids in the East Bay.

College Is Real works to change the college-going culture in Richmond’s three public high schools in order to uplift the community through having more of its students, who are nearly all low-income youth of color, attend and be first in their families to graduate from college. CIR does this by having a professional on-site program director at each of the schools and by offering a variety of services all designed to ensure the students can succeed in high school and progress towards college and meaningful careers.  A key part of the program is to provide students with experienced mentors to help focus their efforts in pursuit of their life goals.
